Founded by a car enthusiast in Austin, for people who care about their cars. The 850R is our own car, kept right since it was new, and it set the rule we still work by: do it correctly, or don't do it.

Why there's a Volvo on this page
RDR started with the red 850R in these photos. It's our own car, in the family since 1996, and keeping a 30-year-old car looking new teaches you the things most detailers skip: the right wash so the paint never scratches, the right products so the leather doesn't crack in a Texas summer, and the patience to do it the same way every time.
That turned into doing it for friends, then friends of friends, then people with cars you usually only see in magazines. RDR Detailing is the same care, run as a proper business: booked online, priced up front, done in your driveway.
The 850 is still around, and it still gets washed the same way as everything we touch.
The other reason
Booking a detail should not take a phone call
When we looked at how detailing gets sold in Austin, it was one of two things. Drop your car at a shop and lose it for a day, or fill out a form and wait for someone to call you back with a price. Neither felt right for a $250 service.
So RDR runs the way we'd want to book it ourselves. Every package and every price is on the site, set by your vehicle's size, so the number you see is the number. You pick a day and a time in about a minute. We come to your driveway, garage or office with our own water and power. Nothing is charged until the detail is done and you've looked it over.
Simple on purpose. It's the part most people tell us they noticed first.

Three rules we don't bend

Do it correctly
Two buckets, clean towels per car, DI water, no shortcuts that save ten minutes and cost you paint. If it can't be done right in the time booked, we say so and reschedule.

Say the price, and mean it
The number on the page is the number. Nothing is charged until it's done and you've looked at it.

Treat every car like it's ours
Every car gets the same process the 850 does, whatever it is. It's the only way we know how to do it.
